Daycare Match Overview & Process

Daycare Match Process

What is our Daycare Match program?

Helpr finds and vets licensed daycare facilities that fit a family’s unique needs. We consider budget, pedagogical approach, location and other factors to ensure a great fit.

What are the benefits of daycare?

  • Regular schedule of activities
    • Children thrive when activities such as naps, snacks, play and storytelling are structured and routine.
  • Academic advancement
    • Daycare programs adhere to a structured curriculum that follows state guidelines and helps improve children’s academic development. Several studies have found that children in daycare settings have developed advanced language and cognitive skills and are better equipped to enter kindergarten.
  • Social and cognitive development
    • Children who attend high-quality childcare learn to self-regulate their behaviors. They learn social skills and problem-solving skills through peer and adult interactions. Daycare can bolster children’s emotional and cognitive development, the effects of which benefit children throughout their lives.

How does Helpr’s Daycare Match work?

Step 1: Intake

Families have a consultation with a Helpr Care Consultant and will be asked to submit a daycare intake form that outlines their unique needs.

Step 2: Search

After the daycare intake form has been submitted, a consultant will begin researching and contacting licensed daycares, based on the family’s specifications.

Step 3: Information & Tours

Your consultant will send you comprehensive information about 3-5 daycare providers that meet your criteria, including:

  • Notes from call
  • Cost, care approach, other highlights
  • Direct contact information
  • Waitlist information, if applicable

The consultant assists families with scheduling a tour of the center(s).

Note: Some facilities are opting for virtual tours due to COVID-19 regulations.

COVID-19 has significantly impacted the childcare landscape:

  • Many daycares have decreased capacity to keep exposure circles contained, thus:
    • We encourage families to initiate the daycare process as soon as possible and prepare to submit a deposit upon finding an opening or joining a waitlist.
    • Your Care Consultant will do their best to find a daycare that meets your family’s needs. If we are unable to find a center for a family, we will work to find an alternative solution, such as a nanny share.
