Our Core Care team assists with finding short and long term child and adult care solutions. We source and vet highly-qualified providers that meet your unique needs.

What does a care provider do?

Childcare providers offer in-home support services to ensure the wellbeing and safety of your child(ren). Providers assist with diapering/potty training, preparing meals for the child(ren), light tidying, nap time, etc. They can also help create routines and aid in the development of the child(ren) through age appropriate play, exposure,activities and playdates. 

Adult care providers support aging adults or those with exceptionalities who need assistance or supervision. Providers can help with general care, surgery recovery and respite care. Adult care providers assist with driving to and from appointments, running errands, preparing meals, administering medicine, providing social and emotional support and ensuring the safety of your loved one.

Childcare Providers

Long and short term, full and part time care for children, including nannies, part time sitters & care shares

Birth Workers

Birth Doula - supports the birthing parent through pregnancy and labor

Postpartum Doula - supports the parent(s) when the new baby comes home.

Newborn Care Specialists 

Provides expert assistance and education for all aspects of newborn care and parental support.

Daycare Match

Research and extensive reporting of 3-5 licensed daycare facilities/providers, based on the criteria you provide.

Nanny Assist

Vetting a care provider you've already found - we check up to 2 references and complete a background check, Motor Vehicle check (if applicable), and social media check.

Adult Care Providers

Long and short term, full and part time care for adults, including aging adults, adults with exceptionalities and respite care.

Backup or Occasional Care Providers

Think date nights, occasional care and filling gaps in primary


What is backup/occasional care?

Backup care covers gaps in your primary childcare or adult care arrangements. 

Including when:

  • School is temporarily closed
  • Your go-to caregiver or nanny isn’t available
  • You work from home, overnight or unpredictable shift
  • You need help for a few hours

Due to tax and legal limitations, backup care does not include full time caregivers or nannies. Learn more about your benefits and tax limitations here.


What is a Birth Worker?

Birth Doula

A birth doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the birthing parent before, during, and shortly after childbirth to help them achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible. 

  • Doulas typically bundle services in packages 
    • Birth package-$2500; includes visits to discuss birth plan, provide educational support, set up nursery, yoga/breathwork practice, etc.  On-call support, attendance/support during active birth, 1-2 postnatal visit. 
    • Doulas typically require a contract with a retainer fee to hold estimated delivery date (or EDD)

Postpartum Doula

Postpartum doulas (PPD) provide families information and support around newborn/infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from childbirth, infant soothing and coping skills for new parents. They might also assist with light housework, family errands and family meals. 

PPDs typically charge hourly, have a 4 hour minimum, and require a contract with retainer fee 

Newborn Care Specialist

Newborn Care Specialists (NCS) provide unique expertise in all aspects of newborn care, parental education, and support; for both day and night. NCS’ play a key role in helping nurture and care for newborns and providing guidance and education for parents.

  • They support with: general care, bathtime/bedtime routine, sanitizing/sterilizing bottles and pump parts, preparing bottles, baby laundry, creating and establishing healthily sleep routines
  • NCS’ typically charge hourly, assist up to 7 days per week, and require a contract with retainer fee
    • Night shifts are typically 7PM-7AM or 10-12 hours

What is the daycare match process?

Our Daycare Match program assists families in finding a daycare or preschool that meets their needs in terms of location, budget, pedagogy and potential start date. Based on this criteria, a member of our Core Care team extensively researches available programs and compiles a comprehensive report of 3-5 licensed daycare facilities and/or licensed in-home.

Once you’ve connected with a Core Care Consultant, you’ll complete our Daycare Match Intake Form

Your Core Care Consultant will also ask for the following information:

  • The area where you would like to search for care options
  • Whether you are interested in center-based or in-home options - or both
  • The date you wish to enroll your child(ren)
  • Your child(ren)’s age upon your desired start date
  • The weekly/monthly budget you wish to stay in
  • Days and hours of care needed
    • Full-time care
    • 2, 3, or 4 day options
    • Desired drop-off and pickup times

We also welcome our families to provide any additional notes around preferences such as language immersion, Montessori/Waldorf/Reggio Emilia, schools you are currently considering or have already been in contact with and any other information that could assist us in finding the best schooling options for your child and family. 

Once a Care Consultant receives your completed Daycare Match form, we will begin researching options in your area and you can expect a report within 3-5 business days.

Your Core Care Consultant will do a location based search and will personally contact each licensed center in your area to ensure it will meet your families needs. You’ll receive a comprehensive list of between 3-5 licensed centers.

Please note, we do our very best to locate centers that meet your needs, but we cannot guarantee we will be able to find centers that fit all of your criteria.


What is the Nanny Assist option?

Our Core Care Consultants will work alongside your family in vetting a care provider you've already found. 

What is the vetting process and what does it include?

  • Your family will provide your provider’s full name, email address and phone number.
  • Your care provider will receive a link to submit their information for a criminal background check, Motor Vehicle check (if applicable) and social media review.
  • We check up to 2 references for the provider

How many care providers can Helpr vet for you?

  • Consistent care (full or part time) - we screen 1 care provider
  • Backup/occasional care - we screen up to 2 care providers 

How long does the vetting process take?

Background checks typically take 2-14 business days to complete. Your Core Care consultant will send all clearances and reports to you as soon as they are completed.


What additional resources can Helpr provide?

Your Core Care consultant will answer questions and provide recommendations to the best of their ability. We also provide a sample Caregiver Contract and recommended payroll service, should you wish to utilize them.
