What's the cancellation policy?

You can cancel within the app on the 'bookings' screen at any time. You can also contact our support team at hello@helpr-app.com and we can cancel for you during business hours.

For care with your personal uploaded providers

  • Any cancellation policy should be negotiated between you and your provider.
  • There are never any fees when canceling a booking for a personal uploaded provider as long as cancelations occur within 24 hours of the booking end time if the provider has already confirmed the booking. This time frame is to ensure the Helpr team can maintain our timeline for processing payments to providers and not pay your provider for care if not provided.
  • Helpr does not deduct the hours scheduled from the employee's benefit package if the booking is canceled.

For care with Helpr's Network of sitters

  • Fees do not apply if you cancel with your assigned Helpr Network sitter less than an hour after the sitter accepts or for canceling more than 24 hours before the start of care.
  • There are never any fees when canceling a booking with no Helpr Network sitter assigned
  • The cancellation fee if applicable is:
    • Your copay and hour deduction for the 4 hour minimum or 75% of the total time booked at your copay rate, whichever is more. 
    • We do this out of respect for the sitter’s time and commitment to your care. This also helps us keep top sitters continuing to book through Helpr.
  • For last minute cancellations for COVID-19 exposure &/or positive test result as well as contagious illness of a household member:
    • Your hourly copay for the cancellation will be waived if you need to cancel with short notice for this reason.

For sessions with Helpr Online tutors & teachrs

  • Fees do not apply if you cancel with your tutor or teachr less than an hour after they accept or for canceling more than 24 hours before the start of care.
  • If you cancel more than an hour after the tutor or teachr accepts and less than 24 hours before the start of the session, we will not be able to return the session pass to your account.
  • We do this so we can provide payment for the tutor/teachr out of respect for their time and commitment to your session.
